While kicking back on the beach in Kauai, I got an invite from Webmasterradio to cohost this Thursday's edition of the Daily Searchcast with Danny Sullivan. Not sure exactly what we'll be talking about, but I suspect a good part will be spent on personalized search results and Google's recent announcement. It appears that I've become a proponent of personalized search results, at least according to the blogosphere. I'm not exactly sure if this is completely true. I think it's more a matter of seeing the inevitability of personalized search. I am a proponent of what ever makes the user experience better on search, and I believe in the long run, a move towards personalization will do that. I'm actually just finishing up my column for SearchInsider this week, and I'll be talking about it more.
Speaking of personalized search, I'm very excited to have a chance to speak with Marissa Mayer at Google about what personalized search will mean for the user experience on Google. I'll be chatting with Marissa, if all goes well, on Thursday and hope to run some of the questions that have come up on various blogs about personalization past her. I'll be running the interview, along with a future interview with Matt Cutts on what personalization means for SEO, in the future columns for Just Behave, on Searchengineland. Stay tuned.
Regardless, make sure you catch Webmasterradio on Thursday, whatever Danny and I are talking about.
